Energy-saving measures at this popular tourist centre of Balaton

As local governments are not considered residential consumers, they can only purchase electricity and natural gas at market prices, reports veol.hu. Therefore, they need to introduce energy-saving measures. There will be an administrative break at the local government between 21 and 30 December.

No Christmas decorative lighting

In Balatonalmádi, the government decided to replace the light sources with LED lighting fixtures in the office and at the town hall. In addition, decorative lighting in the Szent Erzsébet Park and sculpture park will be turned off. The situation is the same with buildings, including churches operated from the public lighting network. Moreover, there will be no decorative lighting at the fountains, and there will be no Christmas lighting either.

They will also limit the heating temperature to save energy

The buildings of the Magocskák Kindergarten and the Gondos Panni Family and Child Welfare Center and Social Service building are also trying to save energy. The Gondos Panni Family and Child Welfare Center and Social Service will terminate operation on the lower level of the building. Furthermore, the heating temperature is 20 degrees Celsius in the building and 16 degrees outside of working hours. Regarding the Balatonalmádi Sports Center buildings, they will use LED light sources. In addition, presence sensors in the changing rooms and washrooms ensure economical energy consumption.
